Hebrew Transcription Meaning Note Example
בקרוב bekarov soon Neutral, “in the near future” (can be minutes… or weeks, depends on context). נדבר בקרוב. – We’ll talk soon.
עוד מעט od me’at in a little while Very soon, short wait, “just a bit more.” More immediate than בקרוב. עוד מעט אני מגיע. – I’m coming in a bit.
תכף téchef any moment, right away Colloquial, very immediate (“like, now”). Often used in speech. תכף חוזר. – I’ll be right back.
בהקדם bahekdem as soon as possible Formal/office tone. Implies urgency and priority (ASAP). אשיב לך בהקדם. – I’ll reply ASAP.
במהרה bimherá quickly, soon More literary/formal than מהר; can mean “quickly” and sometimes “soon,” often in elevated style. הוא שב במהרה. – He returned quickly.
מהר mahér quickly, fast Speed (how), not time (when). Used to urge someone, but it doesn’t inherently mean “soon.” בוא מהר! – Come quickly!
