חוץ מ־ chútz mi- except for, aside from Most common and informal; works for both people and things. כולם באו לחגיגה חוץ מיוסי – Everyone came to the party except for Yossi.
מלבד milvad besides, apart from Slightly more formal; often in writing or speech when listing exceptions or additions. מלבד הספרים, הבאתי גם מחברות – Besides the books, I also brought notebooks.
למעט lema’et excluding, except for Formal; common in official/bureaucratic contexts. כל העובדים יקבלו בונוס, למעט שניים – All employees will get a bonus, except for two.
פרט ל־ prat le- except for, apart from Formal/literary; literally “apart from.” פרט לכך, הכל היה בסדר – Apart from that, everything was fine.
זולת zulát except for, besides Very formal/poetic; mostly in literature or high-register speech. אין לו חבר זולת אחיו – He has no friend except for his brother.
